The five element pagoda is a specially formulated feng shui object for combating the malicious energy of the earth element Flying Stars. This includes the #5 Disaster flying star and the #2 Illness flying star.

The five element pagoda is made of brass to powerfully quell the intensely harmful earth energy of these flying stars specifically affecting period 8, which lasts until 2024. As their names suggest, the harmful energies of these flying stars attract calamity, accidents, financial loss and other misfortunes from the Disaster star and sickness, injury or untimely death from the Illness star.
