Fuk Lak Sau is the god figure of wealth, good fortune and long life. Also known as the Three Star Deities, Fuk Lak Sau is a common presence in a lot of Chinese and feng shui users’ homes. Fuk is shown with a child in his arms and is shown in a scholar’s dress. Fuk is in charge of giving good luck. His star is connected with the planet Jupiter. Fuk is sometimes known as Fu which is the character for good luck. Luk holds a Ru Yi, or scepter of power and authority. He is shown as being dressed in the Mandarin. In ancient China, he was respected as the god who ruled over success in the highest imperial examinations. Luk is also sometimes represented as ‘Lu’, which specifically represents the salary of a government official. Luk represents authority, prosperity and influence. Sau is shown cupping a peach in his hand; this is a symbol of youth, good health, beauty and immortality. His star is said to rule over the length of mortal’s lives. He is shown with a smile and being happy.
