Buddha is the state of perfect awareness. In Feng Shui the presence of the Lord Buddha is symbolic of a freedom from desire, animosity and ignorance. Being free of such constraints is believed to lead to the ultimate harmonious energy: enlightenment.
The energy of Buddha is that of peace and harmony. He is immune to all negative energy. This strong presence is most desirable in Feng Shui for creating a profound sense of both balance and calm in the environment. This is particularly useful for areas with an excess of Yang energy.
Legends say that Lord Buddha began as a regular human being like you and me. He was born to a wealthy family as Gautama Siddhartha and destined to be a prince. But once he was an adult he quickly tired of this life of excess and went into the forest to feed his spiritual urge. He tried asceticism (self-inflicting pain to further realization) and other practices but did not find these led him any closer to true knowledge. Siddhartha then sat under a Bodhi tree and meditated. Mara, the negative energy, attempted to overcome him with her poison Buddha but he was triumphant and surpassing Mara gained enlightenment. This man was then Buddha and went on to become much exalted as a spiritual leader in his lifetime and exists in an eternally revered nature in many cultures and religions.
Thus Buddha in your home is a most excellent feng shui cure for inspiring the overcoming of negative energies and great obstacles. Here are some suggested feng shui placements in your home:
Do not place him on the floor, in the bedroom or bathroom.
